Docking StationSatellite phones and mobile, vehicle-mounted dish systems allow users to connect with the outside world no matter how remote they are, but they may require the use of docking stations. Satellite phones need to be outdoors and pointing at satellites to gain reception. If you want to use these global phones indoors, you’ll need a docking station. At World Communication Center, we carry a number of docking station packages that are lightweight, compact and as portable as our global satellite phones. You’ll find docking stations with mast antennas included, and packages which are sold separately from antennas and cabling. We even carry a model of Iridium docking station designed specifically for military use. Use a Satellite Phone Indoors with a Docking StationWe have a “Docking Station QuickStart Guide” that can be accessed through our website. This guide can help you with handset configurations, including SIM card and antenna instructions, instructions for docking the handset, plugging in the docking station and undocking the handset. Of course, if you still have questions and aren’t finding the answers you need, we have an around-the-clock Iridium customer care center that is accessible via a toll-free number. The specifications for one of our Iridium docking station models are as follows: a weight of about 13 ounces, 30 hours of standby time and 3.6 hours of talk time, call forwarding, an illuminated display, 100-number storage and other features. This is just one example of how small and sophisticated satellite technology has become. If you need to get set up with a phone, a docking station, a global pager or other tools, call us and we can place a rush on your order, even in time for a spontaneous international trip. |
