Regional BGAN

Regional BGAN (broadband global area network) is one of Inmarsat's satellite phone systems. One of the most affordable of the "complete coverage" systems, regional BGAN allows users to enjoy high-speed connections in Europe, the Middle East, central Asia, some parts of India and Australia, and north, central and western Africa. Understand Regional BGAN Systems

With this type of system, you'll use a portable modem that is about the size of a notebook. Connect this modem to your PC and, within two minutes, you'll have high-speed Internet access, even if you are in the middle of the desert, on a mountain top or in the bush. 144 kbps is the speed at which you'll be able to send and receive (simultaneously!) data.

Regional BGAN uses an IP protocol, which means that you'll only pay for the amount of data you exchange, not for minutes spent online.
