Thuraya is a satellite network that allows for global communication; in this way, it is similar to the Inmarsat, Iridium and Globalstar systems. The Thuraya satellite network, however, focuses on providing remote communication service in Africa, the Middle East and parts of Europe. At World Communication Center, you can buy or rent one of our Iridium phones and make calls using the Thuraya satellites, but you will pay a different per-minute rate than you would if you were calling in-network.
